Just the other day, in fact several times over the past few weeks, I have have received emails or snailmail offers from websites like pickyourRealtor dot com and housevalues dot com. They were trying to sell me leads. Meaning the companies that own the websites are gathering information from people just like you and selling it to realtors. They aren't selling it necessarily to the most qualified realtor or the realtor who takes the best care of his or her clients. They simply sell it to the highest bidder. One email I received the other day claimed that most people hire the realtor that contacted them first. If a realtor contacts you because a company sold your information to them and you hire him or her because he contacted you first, is that in your best interest? Choose your realtor carefully. You, not a company with deep pockets, know who is most qualified to help you through the process of buying or selling a home.
